Welcome.
This is a work in progress. I wanted somewhere to post images of my craft work, mainly created using my cricut machine and their cartridges or SCAL. Both have made my crafting a real joy. Feel free to look around.
If you have any questions on how I have made anything here, please feel free to email me or post a comment at the bottom right of this page and I will happily try to help you.
You are welcome to download or copy any images, but if you submit the design anywhere, please either change the design or give me original credit.
Enjoy!
Update:
I have started a new blog for my garden and home as it was taking over my craft blog a bit.To get to the garden blog just click on the button below and it will take you there - like magic!

Guitar card
Thanks to Melinda Ford who posted a svg file a while back for a guitar viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5084&p=24287&hilit=guitar#p24287

My nephew is learning guitar and it is his birthday soon. I took the svg file of Melinda's and added some layers to it in Inkscape and then cut them out using SCAL2 and the new layers feature.I cut it using 12 x 24 card which I had and it has made an awesome card.
My husband had some light aluminium rod which we moulded around the inside of the card to strengthen it and then I covered that with another cut of the card. The "card" part itself is just of the body of the guitar, not the neck part. And then finally I found some old cottons of my grandmothers which were silver and they made the strings.
I am really thrilled with this and that it stands on its own too. My nephew will be able to put it on a shelf or hang it on his wall.

and here are a couple of it closer up

May's swap

May's theme was Oriental. This was hard as I didn't have anything on the cartridges that was oriental. Then I remembered I had a lot of papers that I had purchased years ago that were sort of oriental and Walk in the Garden had an orchid which I felt was oriental. So that is what I ended up with. It was a really good swap with some amazing cards.
April's swap

This month's theme was one colour. The cards had to be in one colour but could be several shades of that colour. White was also acceptable as an extra.
I thought it was going to be easy but it was quite difficult to come up with something.
This was done with Walk in the Garden; Plantin and Accent Essentials.

New Lattice/Daisy card

I have been playing today with some lattice cards that I use my cricut and DS to cut. (see here for original lattice cut files)
I have changed this one to get extra room for the greeting on the card (you can see that the lattice has been interupted for the Happy Birthday).
So once I had cut it I wanted to do something with it so I took the daisy flower that Tinga had posted for SCAL cutting(see here) and then the flourish posted by Rose (see here) (but cut off the leaves as I only wanted the flourish).
The Happy Birthday is a peal off sticker.
It is the first card I have made that is one colour - two different tones of green but still all green and I am really pleased with the result.

February Card swap

Here is my February card swap. The theme was Animals and/or Birds.
I used the cut file from http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=2496326 for the lattice, however I had to remake it as I didn't have te cartridges needed. So I remade it using Plantin Schoolbook for the diamonds and Christmas Cheer for the triangles. I also cut the card itself so that I could get the lattice in the correct position. The bird was cut using SCAL from this post http://forums.surecutsalot.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3457.
The cards haven't been sent out yet so I haven't got the scans of all the rest, will post them when I get them.
My Dad's Birthday
Today is my dad's birthday so here is the card I made him.

I took the inspiration for it from a post on the Cricut message board by KatesaCraftyBugger
http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=4016711
Kate cuts the spaces around the letters by hand but I wanted my cricut machine to do it all for me if I could so I made it in Inkscape and imported it into SCAL for cutting. Using the shadow feature in Inkscape gave me the different thicknesses of the letters. I then put a rectangle page at the end for a message. I used my 12 x 24 inch mat and paper so was able to cut it all out of one piece of card - each letter was about 6 x 4 inches in size - just fitted into a standard envelope.

"My Daddy" wordbook

I had an order for a wordbook from a lady who wanted one for her niece to give to her father for his birthday. She wanted it to say "My Daddy" on it and be in masculine colours.
I didn't put any photo or journalling mats inside it as she wanted to do that herself, but I supplied her with matching paper to use for the mats when she decided on what she wanted to do.
Her feedback to me when she received it was "many thanks, the work is great and I can tell a lot of thought went into it - hes going to love it. :-) " His birthday is in March sometime so I hope she will let me know the end result of it.
I cut this all out using SCAL.

Donald & Daisy card
Misty has asked me how I made my January swap card.
So I thought I would post it here so others might find it useful.
Please note I am using DS to make this card.
To make the card itself I used the shadow key and the Donald & Daisy image
I then copied it so I had two of them.
I flipped one image so they faced each other, and nudged them together.
Make sure you have both of them with the welding button ticked.
I also rotated both pieces slightly so that the feet were level so it would stand up ok - my rotation was 12.23 and -12.23 as you can see in the above properties box.
Once they had joined up enough I previewed it to check and then could cut it.
For the white inside I used the same image but just clicked on the Shift Lock instead of the shadow and so you get the outline only but at the regular size not the shadow size.
Then did the pieces for the front as normal.
I hope that makes sense - feel free to ask any questions if I missed a step or anything.

January 09 Swap

I made this card from Mickey & Friends cartridge and cut the card the same shape as the image. I then cut a white inset the same as the inside was black initially.
This can be used as a Valentine card I thought.

Christmas Treat Bags svg files
I was asked if I could make the Christmas treat Bags I have shown below (click here) into .svg files so they could be cut using SCAL.
I have attached the files - there are two of them, one for the house and one for the ornament. I have included all the layers in the same .svg file so they will keep their size when you import them into SCAL.

I have not cut them but I imported them into SCAL and they looked fine in preview mode so should cut alright.
Please let me know if the links do not work.

I made these treat bags for Christmas day. I filled them with some sweets and small candy canes for everyone.
Thanks to those on the Cricut message board who posted the files for others to use
