Welcome.
This is a work in progress. I wanted somewhere to post images of my craft work, mainly created using my cricut machine and their cartridges or SCAL. Both have made my crafting a real joy. Feel free to look around.

If you have any questions on how I have made anything here, please feel free to email me or post a comment at the bottom right of this page and I will happily try to help you.

You are welcome to download or copy any images, but if you submit the design anywhere, please either change the design or give me original credit.

Enjoy!

Guitar card

Thanks to Melinda Ford who posted a svg file a while back for a guitar viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5084&p=24287&hilit=guitar#p24287

My nephew is learning guitar and it is his birthday soon. I took the svg file of Melinda's and added some layers to it in Inkscape and then cut them out using SCAL2 and the new layers feature.I cut it using 12 x 24 card which I had and it has made an awesome card.
My husband had some light aluminium rod which we moulded around the inside of the card to strengthen it and then I covered that with another cut of the card. The "card" part itself is just of the body of the guitar, not the neck part. And then finally I found some old cottons of my grandmothers which were silver and they made the strings.

I am really thrilled with this and that it stands on its own too. My nephew will be able to put it on a shelf or hang it on his wall.

and here are a couple of it closer up

My Mum's Birthday

My mum (or "Mom" if you are American) turns 70 this month so I made her this birthday card.
The lattice card was detailed in the previous post (click here) and the tulips pattern came from Papers, Scissors, Ink (click here)

My Dad's Birthday

Today is my dad's birthday so here is the card I made him.

I took the inspiration for it from a post on the Cricut message board by KatesaCraftyBugger
http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=4016711

Kate cuts the spaces around the letters by hand but I wanted my cricut machine to do it all for me if I could so I made it in Inkscape and imported it into SCAL for cutting. Using the shadow feature in Inkscape gave me the different thicknesses of the letters. I then put a rectangle page at the end for a message. I used my 12 x 24 inch mat and paper so was able to cut it all out of one piece of card - each letter was about 6 x 4 inches in size - just fitted into a standard envelope.

Christmas Treat Bags svg files

I was asked if I could make the Christmas treat Bags I have shown below (click here) into .svg files so they could be cut using SCAL.
I have attached the files - there are two of them, one for the house and one for the ornament. I have included all the layers in the same .svg file so they will keep their size when you import them into SCAL.
house.svg

I have not cut them but I imported them into SCAL and they looked fine in preview mode so should cut alright.

Please let me know if the links do not work.
